Firestarter based on a novel of the same name follows Charlie– a young girl born to supernatural parents whose pyrokinetic powers are an inconvenient features of her childhood temper tantrums. And director Keith Thomas’ attempts to use music or lighting to amp up suspense did little to add intrigue to the film.
